Overhit Hero Spotlight: Machaon Tips & Tricks

Machaon Tip #1: Is Machaon Worth It?

*If your team lineup is mostly Dark Types
  - Some SSR Leader Skills needs Dark Allies (Teze, Angelo and Malpion)

* If you want an effective SR HERO who is a single target nuker
  - Machaon has two skills both can only damage one enemy, but what seperates him to other single target nuker is his ultimate skill "Cruel Hunt"

  - Machaon is effective at knocking down enemy heroes who have low HP and his skills will not randomly hit enemies that are not in the frontline (Unlike Teze, Etc).

* If you have an existing powerful AoE hero in your line up.
  - Machaon is a great finisher for an SR Hero. Machaon's is more effective when the enemy has low HP because you have AoE damage dealers.

* Effective in Raids specially on fafnir (dark type)
  - Machaon is still effective in Raid even if the monster has more than 50% HP, because his both skills have high damage for a single enemy regardless of bonus damage from Cruel Hunt.
     - Machaon is even more effective when the enemy boss has below 50% HP, joining a raid that is already 50% hp below will give you more damage output.
  - If you plan to play two or more accounts, Machaon is effective finisher for Raids.
     - I have two accounts in Overhit AUS/Canada server in which my secondary account has a max upgraded machaon who helps me finish my main account raids.

Machaon Tip #2: Cruel Hunt.

Cruel Hunt's additional damage is what separates him with other single target nuker.
The additional damage will only triggers when the victim's health is 50% or below.

So cast Cruel Hunt only when the enemy's health below 50% HP right?
The answer is NO! The "additional damage 50% hp below" will trigger after the 2nd strike of the Cruel Hunt.

Cruel Hunt has 3 strike animation.
The first strike is when he uppercuts the enemy (40% damage of Cruel Hunt without the additional damage).
The second strike is when he catch the enemy with his claw (10% damage of Cruel Hunt without the additional damage).

-----50% HP and below condition triggers after the second strike and before the third strike-----

Scenario #1: When the enemy has still more than 50% HP.
The third strike is when he slams the enemy in the ground (50% damage of Cruel Hunt without the additional damage).

Scenario #2: If the enemy has 50% HP or below AFTER the second strike.
The third strike is when he slams the enemy in the ground (50% damage of Cruel Hunt) plus the additional damage around 50% plus (depends on the skill level: Level 1 = 56% | Level 6 = 51%).

If the enemy has 50% HP above after the 2nd strike, you won't get the additional damage.
If the enemy has 50% HP or below after the 2nd strike, you would get additional damage around 50% after the 3rd strike.

So you can still cast Cruel Hunt to an enemy who has 50% hp or more as long as you can lower his/her HP below 50% after the 2nd strike.

Example: an enemy has 75% HP left and you cast Cruel Hunt to him.
You've manage to lower his HP around lower 50% after the 2nd strike, he will be knockout after the third strike since you will still deal damage to him twice the damage of the 1st and 2nd strike.

1st/2nd Strike Damage = 50%
3rd Strike Damage = 50%
Additional Damage = 50% if triggers.

So if you can manage an Enemy who has 75% HP or more to reduce it after the 2nd strike to 50% HP lower, it is a 100% guaranteed kill.

Machaon Tip #3: Lastly Equipment Stat Attributes.

For Weapons.

Stat Attribute Priority in-order.
  • Damage Increase Rate (It has higher damage output compared to ATK)
  • ATK
  • Crit Rate
Not so useful Stat Attributes
Status Effect Success Rate (Additional Damage is not a status effect | Crit Rate Debuff from "Infernal Beam" has 100% rate which is still high enough even if your enemies has Status Effect Resist Items)
Accuracy (Block Rate in game has very low value so you don't need to worry about getting Accuracy when facing enemies even they have block rate equipment)
Healing Ability (Machaon doesn't have healing skills)

For Armors (Doesn't really matter as long as it has good attribute and higher rarity/level)

For Accessories
Stat Attribute Priority in-order.
  • Pierce Damage | Crit DMG + Rate | Fixed Damage Reduction
  • Skill Cooldown Reduction
  • Max HP
