【Laplace M / Tales of Wind】Mage - Frostweaver PvE Skill Build

This Skill Build is intended for PvE Player versus Environment or PvM Player vs Monsters.
Note: You can reset skill points as much as you want.

This PvE Skill Build for Mage - Frostweaver will help you maximize your skill allotment for killing monsters more quickly and efficient!

When you already completed your Daily Events, you can still earn EXP from killing monsters in regular Dungeon.

Although you may still use this Skill Build for other purposes such as PvP, Boss Hunt, and other events but it won't be effective against those events.

40 SP Mage PvE Skill Tree

40 SP Mage PvE Skill Build

Active Skills
  • Lv. 10 Ice Storm - AoE Damage Duration Skill.
  • Lv. 10 Frost Bird - 2.5 Seconds Cooldown AoE Damage Skill.
  • Lv. 10 Word of Elements - Increase your All Damage Skill Output by 50%.
  • Lv. 5 Fire Storm - Instant AoE Damage Skill.

Passive Skills
  • Lv. 5 Farewell - Extend Word of Elements skill effect duration to 10 seconds.

Frost Bird is a low cooldown high burst damage skill. You will cast this skill more frequently while on Ice Storm Active duration which makes mage very effective in PvE or Mob clearing on Team Events.

Ice Storm is an AoE Damage Duration Skill. Ice Storm when casted, it stays for 6 seconds while damaging enemies per 1 second and Ice Storm has a low cooldown of 6 seconds.

Word of Elements is Mage's Buff Skill. It will increase all of Mage Skill Damage Output by 50% for 10 seconds and you can increase for another 10 seconds if max level Farewell Passive skill and Word of Elements Skill has 30 cooldown.

Why there's no Blink?
Blink and Frost Bird won't work efficiently because when you cast Frost Bird in auto mode, your mage will reposition away from the enemies so it can hit all enemies as possible as it can.
Blink does the opposite of Frost Bird, it will blink to the enemies and deals damage. You need less walking as possible to maximize your Damage Per Second Output.

Why Fire Storm is only at Lv. 5?
The value of Word of Elements is more important than adding extra 5 skill points to Fire Storm because Word of Elements amplifies your all active skills.
Fire Storm has a cooldown of 10 seconds and the damage output are still a little bit behind versus Frost Bird that a 2.5 seconds cooldown.
Fire Storm will be eventually replaced with Ice Ward once you reach Frostweaver Class.

41-49 SP Mage PvE Skill Build

Active Skills

  • Lv. 10 Ice Storm
  • Lv. 10 Frost Bird
  • Lv. 10 Word of Elements
  • Lv. 10 Fire Storm - Max Level first your Firestorm before upgrading Focus Energy

Passive Skills

  • Lv. 5 Farewell
  • Lv. 4 Focus Energy - Increase Frost Bird damage for 10% (Lv. 5 Focus Energy)

Focus Energy vs Winter's Bite: Focus Energy provides more 10% Frost Bird increase damage while Winter's Bite increases Ice Storm damage by 5% only and you can have 10% chance to freeze enemies but you don't need that when doing PvE.

You need to spend 40 SP Mage Skills for you to able to upgrade or use your Frostweaver Skills.
40 SP Frostweaver "Mage" Skill Build Tree (Required to unlock Frostweaver Skills)

50 SP Frostweaver Skill Build
You'll need to remove Fire Storm and replace it with Ice Ward.
You'll need to allot 5 skill points for Focus Energy to reach 40 SP.

Active Skills

  • Lv. 10 Ice Storm
  • Lv. 10 Frost Bird
  • Lv. 10 Word of Elements
  • Lv. 5 Ice Ward - Frostweaver Skill.

Passive Skills

  • Lv. 5 Farewell
  • Lv. 5 Focus Energy - Required for 40 SP Unlock Frostweaver Skills.

Lv 5. Ice Ward vs Lv 10 Fire Storm
Ice Ward has 9 Seconds Cooldown while Fire Storm has 10 seconds cooldown and they have both similar cast animation.
Although Ice Ward can only hit enemies up to 6 only while Fire Storm can hit all enemies covered by it's AoE.
BUT!!! Ice Ward can freeze enemies for 3 seconds and receives 67% bonus damage for 3 seconds OR 22.33% bonus damage per second.

Lv. 5 Ice Ward initial Damage= 300% Attack +450.
Lv. 10 Fire Storm = 275% Attack +990.
Lv. 5 Ice Ward with 3 Second 67% Ice Ward Bonus Damage = (300% Attack +450) + (201% Attack +301.5) = 501% Attack +751.5
Lv. 10 Fire Storm = 275% Attack +990 = 2722.5
Lv. 5 Ice Ward with 3 Second 67% Ice Ward Bonus Damage = 501% Attack +751.5 = 3755
Lv. 5 Ice Ward is still more powerful than Lv. 10 Fire Storm.

Lv. 54 Frostweaver Skill Build

Enhanced Ice Ward 10% Ice Ward Bonus Damage vs Frostweaver Mastery 2.5% All Skill Damage including Normal Attacks.
We have 3 active damaging skills plus normal attacks but you won't have time to perform normal attacks specially if you have Frost Bird Skill.
Choosing Frostweaver will increase 2.5% to all of your Skill Damage making it a total of 7.5% bonus damage IF those 3 skills have equal damage.
But Ice Ward is more powerful than Ice Storm and Frost Bird even at Lv. 5 Ice Ward only, thanks to it's bonus 67% damage.
I recommend to get a Lvl 5 Enhanced Ice Ward instead.

There's no Advance Blink in this Skill Build because this is for PvE purposes.
Advance Blink is powerful skill for PvP, Boss events, and other Events but getting Advance Blink or Superior Blink won't increase Blink Damage Output which we really need in PvE.
