To play, join a challenge from the Challenge screen, create the best-looking dish based on requirements and the challenge description, and submit it to the judges. Your dish will be judged by other players during the Judging round. When Judging is over, you can claim your results and prizes based on your score.

MasterChef: Dream Plate Tip #2: What's the difference between Mystery Box and Pressure Test challenges?

Mystery Box challenges have a secret requirement - you will only find out what it is once you enter the challenge and lift the box. Mystery Box challenges have no time limit.
Pressure Test challenges have a time limit - you must submit the challenge before time runs out. Pressure Test requirements are shown in the Challenge pop-up before you enter, so you can prepare ahead of time. Take note, the clock keeps on going even if you exit the challenge!

Weekly Menus are daily challenges that are part of a series. You can enter each challenge as it appears on the day.  If you submit all challenges in the series, you'll get a bonus reward!

MasterChef: Dream Plate Tip #4: How does judging work?

When a challenge enters Judging mode, it stops accepting submissions and joins the pool of challenges on the Judging screen. Players are shown 10 entries per challenge, in pairs; tap on the entry you like best. Entries are anonymous until you tap, and then the owners of the entries + their scores are shown.
The more people vote for your plate, the higher the star rating.
When a challenge's judging period is over (usually a day or a little more), the entry is removed from the judging pool and results are sent to participating players.

Since scoring is done by other players, you should strive to make the best-looking dish possible! Here are some tips:
Make sure your dish fits the challenge. Read the challenge description to see what the judges are looking for. Do they want a casual lunch? A picnic? A four-star dining experience? Then choose the items that match the description.
Choose more premium food items. Items that are more expensive usually look nicer, so having a plate with a MasterChef logo or splurging on the best lobster can make a difference.
Lastly, add food effects such as sparkles or steam to make your dish look better than the rest!
